Cafe & Bar Oumi-E, located inside the famous Daimaru Department Store in Shinsaibashi renewed in September 2019, selected KYOGOʼs Nishijin textile to decorate the main wall behind their counter bar. For this project, our Miwaku001 fabric was adapted to recreate the unique atmosphere of traditional Kyoto Hanamachiʼs Japanese bar. The overlay weaving of the hemp leaf patterns generates a phenomenal golden gradation, which enables the design to shift depending on your position or your seat making, each visit a new and unique experience.
