THE HOTEL HIGASHIYAMA by Kyoto Tokyu Hotel
hotel / panel
We designed an original textile panel for the lobby of THE HOTEL HIGASHIYAMA, in Higashiyama, Kyoto, the cultural and artistic city.
The contemporary artist Aiko Tezuka, active all around the world, made a Nishijin design with patterns and crests inspired by the Awata Elementary School map and drawings.
A particular care has been taken to the selection of the colored threads and to the many tests executed to be able to express Tezuka's colorful designs.
In addition, the flowing gradation was woven even more delicately and beautifully by fine-tuning technique, to result in a unique work of art.
