We collaborated with internationally renowned artist Aiko Tezuka—who is based in both Berlin and Tokyo—to bring her artwork to life through traditional Nishijin weaving techniques. Starting from her exploration of painting, Aiko Tezuka developed a unique approach of unraveling and reconstructing woven fabrics. Her works have received high acclaim both in Japan and internationally.
This is our second collaboration with her. To bring her vision to life, we focused on achieving delicate color expression and subtle gradations. Through numerous trials and careful adjustments, we were able to create a truly special piece.
This work was presented at the exhibition “Opening and Connecting – A Study of Incision and Suture” held at the Okazaki Mindscape Museum, Aichi, Japan.
